DIY Playhouse Makeover

Kelsey Easterling

If you’ve known me at all in the past year,
you know that I’m completely obsessed with decking out L&L’s playhouse for every holiday!

Christmas

Before decorating for the holidays, I had to give the playhouse a little makeover!

I started out with purchasing this KidKraft playhouse.

Then I used Glidden high endurance plus exterior paint + primer in white to cover the base and roof.

I put together most of the house (without the small fixtures) before painting.
It took 2 coats of white for good coverage.

For the door, I painted it a light pink in exterior paint – I used the color “cake pop.”

I painted the roof white before putting it on the playhouse.

For the smaller fixtures like handles, window boxes, etc.
I spray painted with Rust-Oleum Metallic Paint & Primer in Gilded Brass.
This has held up outside for over a year now with no scratches or problems!

And here she is all finished!

My girls absolutely love this playhouse and I’m so impressed with how it has held up over the past year despite crazy Texas weather and lots and lots of play!
